Ireland is full of myths and folklore, passed down through generations. Here are a few of the most famous:

Fairy Forts – Scattered across Ireland are ancient, grassy ring-shaped mounds called fairy forts. People say they are magical places where fairies live, and it’s best not to disturb them—just in case! Some believe if you walk around a fairy fort three times, you might hear whispers of fairy laughter.

Leprechaun Gold – According to legend, leprechauns hide their gold at the end of rainbows. Catching one might get you three wishes—if you’re quick enough.

Selkies – These mythical creatures live as seals in the sea but can shed their skins to become human on land. Many tales are about selkies who bring good luck to fishermen and guide lost sailors home.

St. Patrick & the Snakes – Legend says St. Patrick drove all the snakes out of Ireland. While the island never had snakes, some believe the story symbolizes his influence in spreading Christianity.

Cú Chulainn- The Boy Warrior – One of Ireland’s greatest heroes, Cú Chulainn was known for his strength and bravery. As a boy, he defended a fort using just a hurling stick, proving his legendary status.
