The Reston Museum invites the community to an exclusive evening of

storytelling, history, and celebration at a complimentary wine and cheese reception honoring

the museum’s founders who will share their journey leading to the creation of the museum.

This special event will take place on Wednesday, March 26, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the Reston Museum, located in the heart of Lake Anne Plaza. Guests will have the unique opportunity to hear the captivating story behind the museum’s creation from Susann Gerstein, former owner of Small Change, who, along with Sarah Larson, envisioned a space that would preserve Reston’s history and strengthen its sense of community. Their journey is one of perseverance, creativity, and an unwavering love for this remarkable place.

Since opening in 1997 and undergoing a grand reopening in 2009 with a major federal grant, the Reston Museum has become a cornerstone of cultural preservation, providing a comprehensive archive of historical materials, a permanent exhibit chronicling the story of Reston’s beginnings, and a variety of engaging community programs and events. This event will not only highlight the museum’s inspiring origins but also share exciting updates on upcoming programs and events.

In addition to discovering and celebrating the history of the Museum, guests will have the

opportunity to connect with fellow residents, enjoy complimentary wine and cheese, and have

the chance to take home a special Reston-themed gift basket.

This event is free to attend and registration is requested. Space is limited, so secure

your spot today by visiting restonmuseum.org.
