In February at Hunters Woods Elementary School for the Arts and Sciences, 46 student actors and eight student crew members in grades 4-6, presented Willy Wonka Jr., the annual PTA sponsored musical, based on Roald Dahl’s book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This show was the 18th Hunters Woods musical for director, and music and drama teacher, Beth Atkins.

Mrs. Atkins was joined by Leah Kovack as the musical director and Jessi Shull as choreographer. Additional staff assistance was provided by Natasha Yousuf and Gil Osofsky. The students worked hard for nearly four months to bring the magic of candy genius Willy Wonka and his golden tickets to three sold out audiences. The show was filled with humor, song, dance, and of course, candy. The HW PTA is happy to make this experience possible and thanks all the parent volunteers who helped make the show a success.Photo contributed by Karen Rank
