Reston Association Presents its Second Annual Winterfest Dec. 5-7th
Reston Association is throwing a three-day event that’s perfect to kick off the holiday season. This year’s Winterfest will run Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 5-9:00 p.m. at Brown’s Chapel Park. It will be bigger and better than last year; new additions include live musical performances each night, an expanded Enchanted Forest, bigger light displays on the ‘Light Up the Park’ walk, a ‘Grinch’s Village’ and a Santa Experience – all included in one spectacular event. Returning favorites are the Vendor Village for holiday shopping from local sellers, bonfires and smores, the pop-up bar, food vendors, and more. Winterfest is free for all Reston Association members; admission is $8 for non-members ages 3-17, and $18 for non-members 18+. “We’re thrilled to be doing Winterfest for another year!” said Laura Kowalski, Director of Recreation Services for Reston Association. “We looked at last year as our ‘pilot’ year and had an incredible response from our membership and the community. This year we're bringing more lights and more magic to Brown's Chapel Park, and we can’t wait to see everyone enjoy this new holiday tradition.”
Winterfest also presents an opportunity to give back to the Reston community through its Enchanted Forest. The area will feature up to 100 holiday trees, fully decorated by an accompanying sponsor. Sponsorship opportunities for the Enchanted Forest are open to businesses, families, or groups, and all trees in the Enchanted Forest will be donated to families in need around Reston to ensure all have a magical holiday season. Groups interested in sponsoring a tree for Winterfest can click the tree reservation page for more information.
Registration/ticket sales are open. Visit the Winterfest page online for more information.
Lake Anne’s Annual Jingle on the Lake and Christmas Festival to Take Place Saturday
Lake Anne Washington Plaza Merchant Association (LAWPA) is pleased to host the return
of the Jingle on the Lake Christmas Festival at Lake Anne Plaza on December 7, 2024.
Join the Lake Anne and Reston community for a day-long holiday celebration, starring Santa
himself, arriving with a decorated boat parade (made possible thanks to Reston Lakeside
Cluster) and accompanied by Santa’s elves on paddleboards! Rumor has it that the Grinch (played by talented South Lakes theatre student) might attempt to steal Christmas again…but Santa (played by genial neighbor George Broderick) and the kids know how to deal with him...
Calling on kids of all ages to come greet Santa and have great fun, enjoy hot chocolate, food
and gifts at our Christmas Market and plaza restaurants, as well as children’s choirs and ballet, a Charlie Brown Christmas preview, children’s activities and ornament-making, puppies for adoption from Lucky Dog, and more…
