Call Your Mother, which opened their Reston location earlier this year, is known for its unique flavors and eye-catching branding. With fall just around the corner, Reston’s newest bagel shop has launched its fall menu, packed with classic fall flavors like pumpkin and apple, but also some unexpected ones.

The beverage lineup features some usual suspects like the Pumpkin Spice Latte, Mulled Chai, and Apple Cider. The hot Apple Cider, which truly tastes like fall in a cup, does not disappoint. An unexpected addition, the Horchata Matcha Latte, tastes like a creamy, cinnamon dessert. Matcha traditionalists may find it a bit too out of the box, but someone looking for something new and interesting with a hint of fall flavor should check it out.

CYM has several new fall-inspired food items, including bagel sandwiches, a cheesy garlic bread bagel, pumpkin spice cream cheese, and carrot cake. This author opted to test out two bagel sandwiches – the Meatball and the Paradise Farm. The Meatball, which features their fall flavor bagel, is out-of-this-world juicy, sweet, and savory. The spicy honey marinara blends wonderfully with the herby pesto. There isn’t much that screams “fall” about this sandwich, but gosh, who cares?! It’s a 10 out of 10.

The Paradise Farm gives off more a classic fall vibe with the addition of apple slices and garlic-herb cream cheese. All the individual flavors pair nicely together. Plus, after the Meatball, this writer was craving a little green in the form of an apple. However, the crunchy chips and the crisp apple made the sandwich a bit dry. With that being said, this author would try it again with melted cheese or maybe some mashed avocado.

Although there are countless fall sweet treats and snacks to try out this season, make sure to add CYM to the list.
