For many pet owners, animals are part of the family, a philosophy that guides the services offered by Woofie's, a pet care company serving Reston and surrounding communities.
Founded in 2019, the company opened its first location in Loudoun County and has since expanded throughout Northern Virginia and other markets. Services include dog walking, pet sitting, mobile grooming and dog training.
Franchise owner Tanya Lee said new dog-walking and pet-sitting clients receive an initial consultation, allowing staff to meet the pet and owner and discuss the animal's needs before services begin.
While mobile grooming focuses on dogs and cats, pet-sitting services are available for a variety of small animals. "We love taking care of pets and really care about what we do," Lee said.
Lee said many clients choose mobile grooming because it eliminates the need to transport pets, making the service especially convenient for older adults and people recovering from injuries.
The company recently opened a grooming school at its Ashburn location to help address the shortage of trained pet groomers. "We're helping young people get a profession," Lee said.
